The worlds most popular messaging app WhatsApp is now hacked and attacker is now able to remotely install surveillance software on targets phones and other devices using its major vulnerability.
Whatsapp is now confirmed that its security flaw is now able attackers to install spy software's in their target devices.
WhatsApp now released its latest version and requesting all its 1.5 billion users to update it as soon as possible to protect from the hackers.
Whatsapp was promoting itself as a most secured message app because they where using end-to-end encrypted security system to protect all the messages in WhatsApp.
But now attackers used its vulnerabilities and installing surveillance software's just by giving simple WhatsApp calls.
Who hacked WhatsApp ?
the financial times reported that the surivillance software was developed by Israel cyber intelligence company NSO Group. The attacker just calling the targets through WhatApp and target no need to attend the call to get attacked. And the call logs also hidden from target device.
Am i attacked ?
Right now the number of people got spied is unknown. Only few targets where identified and it includes UK-based human rights lawyer and an Amnesty International researcher where identified.
